This project entailed the almost entire reconstruction of a semi-detached house with rear extensions at ground, 1st ^and 2nd ^floor levels, and a basement under the full footprint of the house. The house had not been touched in many decades, was in very poor condition and ripe for a complete overhaul

Taking the theme of a sunflower, we created a curved ground floor extension which turns towards the afternoon sun and makes the dining area feel right in the garden. The ample curved lightwell continues the theme and brings light down to the basement gym.

Internally we designed a staircase that connects all four floors through the center of the house, curving and changing angles as it ascends, continually creating changing spaces and shifting views until it reaches the sunshades at the top.
